THE IFMA SEASON OPENS WITH TWO TOURS IN ONE!

We have the good fortune to see not one, but two, new corporate headquarters. These Fond du Lac neighbors share space on the same street and upgraded facilities that enhance both their corporate images and their employee well-being.

CD Smith Construction has been a Fond du Lac fixture for 83 years. After making multiple additions to their original building, the decision was made to join some of their clients in the Ledge View Business Park, doubling the size of their facility and improving access for visitors. The new 50,000 sq ft facility represents a major investment in energy efficiency and other technologies. On the employee side, it offers a huge increase in daylighting and views plus amenities ranging from wellness facilities to flexible working spaces and outdoor gathering areas.

Across the street, Grande Cheese created a building with a vision of providing employee-focused workspaces designed to reflect the Wisconsin landscape that also cater to the public and invite them in to experience the art of cheese-making. Twin priorities of people-first spaces and environmental responsibility led to heavy use of daylighting with a focus on views (a staggering 90% of regularly-occupied spaces have views); wood and local stone are featured throughout the building and green spaces abound outside (even throughout the parking areas). Test kitchens and labs open for tours enhance the educational experience for visitors. Employees benefit from an onsite clinic, wellness facilities and access to the outdoors.

Due to the distance, we are planning to meet at Fox Valley Technical College near the outer edge of the North lot to allow for car-pooling. Once the tours are finished, the fun will continue with drinks & dinner nearby at The Sweet & Salty Pig for anyone who is able to join.
