Building security, always an important issue, has become even more critical in the wake of recent violent attacks in public spaces and workplaces. Maintaining the safety of occupants and visitors to a space is high priority in all facility types, with security of business data and property ranking a very close second.

Outagamie County has begun a $27M renovation and expansion of facilities on their main campus, primarily to improve security but also to make additional space available for current needs for the expansion of services as well as future growth. Join us on Tuesday, November 14th at the Outagamie County Administration Building in downtown Appleton to learn the steps taken to address these security concerns.
Paul Farrell, Maintenance Manager for Outagamie County and one of our chapter members, will lead a discussion on the planning process and security consultant’s report from 2015 that has culminated in the project currently underway. He will give insight into the changes to department locations, wayfinding and new technologies being employed that will make their facilities more welcoming and easy to navigate while rendering them much more secure. He will also be joined by the county planner, who was involved in the security planning, and a member of the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department who participating in the security training recently provided to county staff at the facilty.
