Few things affect the performance and the feel of a facility the way lighting does. And few things are evolving as rapidly in a facility the way LED lighting tech is. So how does a busy FM stay on top of the latest and greatest in a field of knowledge that is so in flux? A good start would be joining members of our chapter at Fox Valley Tech in Appleton on October 18th for an overview on the latest innovations in LED lighting.

Below is a brief listing of the topics to be covered:

LED – What is it? Where is it going?
Current LED trends – What can we replace?
Screw-in retrofits – Incandescent, CFL, HID replacements for office, manufacturing, warehousing
T8 Retrofit bulbs (TLED’s) – Direct Wire/Ballast Driven/Driver Driven for linear fluorescent
Retro Kits and Dedicated Fixtures – Troffers, high bays, exterior
Controls – Wireless, Dimming, Daylight Harvesting, Occupancy

Our presenter, Randy Johnson, was recommended to us by several of our members. Having joined U.S. Lamp in 1986, Randy has become its president, has received certifications in lighting and engineering systems design and has assisted in the design and implementation of lighting solutions for clients in a wide variety of commercial settings over the past 30 years. In addition, he has developed and presented a broad range of courses on lighting for Focus on Energy, the Energy Center of WI, ComEd, and other utilities in the Midwest.

To facilitate better understanding, Randy will bring some equipment to illustrate these technologies so that attendees can see these product advancements in action. So please join us for lunch on the 18th and take advantage of this information-packed update on LED lighting technology. What you will learn will help you better navigate the myriad choices available in this rapidly-expanding field.
