Trout Museum of Art/Lawrence University | 325 E College Avenue
Appleton, WI 54911
Directions
Lawrence University and the Trout Museum of Art partnered to develop a 4-story mixed-use building in downtown Appleton that reinvented an entire city block. Now housing the museum on the first floor, offices/learning spaces on the second floor and market-rate housing on the third and fourth floors, this project is a study in partnership and innovative thinking.
In this 120,000 sq ft construction, the Trout Museum's needs for a modern facility with environmentally-controlled spaces in which to maintain art collections and expanded areas for galleries and classrooms came together with Lawrence University's needs to increase faculty offices, enhance conferencing, create state-of-the-art learning spaces and add revenue-generating community housing that could flex into student housing as enrollment shifts.
Come get an insider's look at how this project came together in two years on a tight site in the heart of downtown Appleton, finishing 8 months ahead of schedule. Highlights include:
- State-of-the-art climate controls and flexible lighting systems
- 30+ offices, including those with soundproofing for music instruction
- Digital Humanities lab
- Music production facility
- Apartments constructed of modular wood-framed units
Afterward, join colleagues and board members to unwind with a refreshment just steps away at Dr. Jekyll's. Don't wait--register today!
