With nearly 80 years of history in Green Bay, Somerville Architects + Engineers looked no further than a property just down the street on the Fox River for its new home, taking advantage of one of Allouez' TIF districts in the process. With the goals of a new facility to aid in recruiting and retaining talent and increasing operational efficiencies of both building and staff, their team designed a 35,000 sq ft modern yet timeless space clad in stone, brick and metal panels that includes the following features:
- two-story open construction with a mezzanine to enhance employee movement and access to river views throughout the day
- large window expanses to increase daylighting, with building orientation/overhangs to reduce glare/solar heat gain
- expanded and flexible meeting spaces to encourage collaboration
- a dedicated wellness room/restroom with shower and access to the Fox River Trail
- breakroom/cafe space with access to an outdoor terrace
