The AIM Act of 2020 mandates the gradual phasedown of hydrofluorocarbons in the U.S. and addresses their manufacture/use for facilities and industry, directs transitioning to next-generation technologies, and covers reclamation from existing equipment. To help you navigate the complex regulations/processes involved, we've invited local industry expert, Dale Fischer, Training Specialist from Johnstone Supply Sioux Falls Group, to discuss the thorny elements of this legislation as it is fully implemented in the HVAC industry between now and 2036.
The specifics of his presentation will include:
- What are low GWP refrigerants and how are they used?
- What are the flammability issues in the new refrigerants?
- What are the codes and standards for A2L refrigerants?
- What are the refrigerant detection systems being used with the new refrigerants and what mitigation measures are being used?
- What tools and equipment are needed for the new refrigerants?
- What are the rules pertaining to the repair or replacement of chillers and condensers using R22, R410a and other refrigerants and when may that force a full air handler replacement?
If you oversee the HVAC system in a building in the U.S., this is a must-see educational session. Register now to save your seat at this event!
Dale Fischer worked in the HVAC trades for 37 years before changing positions to do tech support and training for the industry.
