We're heading behind the scenes into the demo'd space that will be housing the new Green Bay Public Market, an initiative in development by On Broadway, Inc. Along with a tour of construction progress so far, we will hear from Brooke Hafs with On Broadway, Inc. about the research and needs behind this flagship addition to the Broadway District.

At 45,000 square feet, the market will include:

The market sits adjacent to two USDA designated food deserts and is located within a qualified distressed census tract with limited access to nutritious foods. Health equity will be maintained at the market through the EBT program that will be an expansion of the Farmers’ Market on Broadway program. 

The Public Market will not just sell food — it will also be a place where people can learn more about nutrition and food preparation by attending classes and demonstrations in a second-floor kitchen space. Through partnerships focusing on youth and disadvantaged populations, the kitchen and market’s event space will play an integral role in giving back to the community. With plentiful space for people to gather inside and outside on its patios, the Green Bay Public Market will become a place for community members to come together.

Parking suggestions

The lot behind the building is fenced off for the GC's equipment. Parking on Broadway can be very limited, so we suggest that attendees use the parking lot across the street between Copper State Brewing and Beerntsen's.
